REQUIRED EXPLANATION OF REQUEST
  The Department of Commerce respectfully requests Controlling Board approval for the release of capital funds in the amount of $39,805.00, from Fund 5460, ALI C80023 (SFM Renovations and Improvements), in FY18, which includes an agency release of competitive opportunity to amend a contract with Braun & Steidl Architects, Inc. of Columbus, OH (Franklin County) for the State Fire Marshal Improvements Forensic Storage Maintenance Structure Project in Reynoldsburg, OH (Licking County).  
  The Department of Commerce (COM), Division of State Fire Marshal (SFM) is requesting release of capital appropriation in the amount of $39,805.00 for additional services including HVAC testing & balancing, hazardous materials assessment & monitoring and electrical investigation. The aforementioned items were not a part of the original scope of work, but are required for the completion of the project, and after consultation with Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC), SFM has decided to have the Architect/Engineer perform these services, therefore, this contract is being amended. Approval of this project will allow the project to move forward.
