REQUIRED EXPLANATION OF REQUEST
  The Ohio State University respectfully requests Controlling Board approval to release capital appropriation in the amount of $22,193.00 from Fund 7034, ALI C315BR (Replacement Emrgncy Generators), in FY18, which includes an agency released competitive opportunity per R.C. 127.162 in the amount of $20,193.00 to contract with Monks Engineering, LLC, Columbus, Ohio, Franklin County for professional engineering services for the Emergency Generator Replacement project in Columbus, Franklin County.  
  Scope of the Project: This project will replace the generator and transfer switches in Postle Hall. The generator that is being replaced is estimated to be at least 30 years old.   

Purpose of this Request: This request is to release appropriation for Professional Engineering services and a small amount of contingency for pre-bid expenses such as advertising.

Selection Process: Monks Engineers, LLC. was selected by the Office of Facilities Design and Construction based on their qualifications and experience with similar projects. This firm is also on the 2017 OSU Pre-Qualification List.
